Gastronomic Times at Bistronomic!

I love cooking at home. I really do. But there are just some days when it’s not going to cut it, and my fun (but limited) culinary skills aren’t enough. You want to go out and be treated, have the whole fine dining experience and experience the food you can’t make at home.

You also don’t always one hundred percent of the time want to pay the prices that come with upscale eating.

Let me, therefore, introduce you (or re-introduce you) to Bistronomic. A French bistro who just released their spring menu and does excellent food that won’t break your wallet.

BISTRONOMIC, YOU SAY?

Want to know a little bit more. Well, here’s what they say about themselves:

Bistronomic, located at 840 N. Wabash in Chicago’s Gold Coast, was Chicago magazine’s Best New Restaurant when it opened in 2011 and has been on Phil Vettel’s “Top 50 Restaurants” year after year. Chef Martial has won Chicago Gourmet’s Hamburger Hop two years in a row and will defend his title in 2018!

That’s some serious pedigree right there.

SO WHAT DID YOU EAT?

ST. GERMAIN SPRITZER
St. Germain Liqueur | White Wine | Soda Water

THE BISTRONOMIC COCKTAIL

HANDMADE YUKON GOLD GNOCCHI

HANDCUT FETTUCCINE
Maine Lobster, Baby Broccoli, Chorizo, Fine Herbes, Mussel Saffron Sauce

PRIME BEEF SHORT RIBS

BISTRONOMIC CHEESECAKE

CRÈME BRÛLÉE NAPOLEON

Now, there we’re some standouts. Drinks we’re crisp and sweet and delicious. The gnocchi was incredible and I could have eaten it forever, as we’re the desserts, which were perfectly sweet. Sadly, the pasta from the lobster fettuccine was way overcooked and took away from the dish, because the rest of the flavors were damn incredible.

Clearly we have to come back for the burger, since I hear it’s everything and a half. But what we did have, we liked.
