Alex

Alex Shebar is constantly reminded that he is an American. Of course, this is what happens when you move to London but haven't quite given up the accent (he does spell "favourite" with a 'u' and say, "rubbish," though.)

Born in Boston, and Yelp's former Community Manager of Cincinnati, he emigrated to The Old Smoke in 2012 and never looked back.

Alex now enjoys bad films, strong gin and a brightly coloured Instagram account. Hopefully you enjoy his posts about London and around the world (or at least, those previously mentioned brightly coloured photos.)

What In The World Is This: The Great Minnesota State Fair!

All’s fair in love and war… and fair food on a stick. Since moving to Chicago, I’ve had the chance to check out cities I can say I never really thought of traveling through before, and they’ve all been fantastic. Go Inside The Upside Down: A Chicago Stranger Things Pop-Up Bar

“Maybe I’m crazy, maybe I’m out of my mind! But God help me, I will keep these lights up until the day I die if I think there’s a chance that Will’s still out there!” – Nancy Byers Stranger Things doesn’t return for another season of mystery and 80s-throwbacks until late October, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy all the nostalgia-tinged moment right now. …

When You Play The Game Of Phones…

Well, you win or you die, obviously! A few weeks ago, I was contacted by AT&T to see if I wanted to help promote a gigantic Game of Thrones event and promotion they’re running. I mean, as someone who waits with baited breath each Sunday to see which dragon will roast which character, how could I say no? I was invited down to the kickoff event …

Frosé, All Day!

All right, I’m not afraid to say it: I’m in love with a good food trend. Yes, it’s easy to blow of the edible item du jour as just a fad, or annoying, or if someone mentions pumpkin spice one more time you’re going to literally go insane, and I get it. But there is a joy in something that simply brings joy: tiny food, …

Doing Chicago’s Foodie Spots In Style

Chicago is arguably one of the top foodie destinations in the Midwest. When you consider the ever expanding food scene as well as the stand by classics that consistently deliver in terms of quality, taste, and overall experience, it’s quite easy to see why that is. Plus, we were just named the Top Restratunt City in the US by Bon Appétit Magazine! There’s a little something …
